Happy Birthday Jane!

Today is my sister, Jane's 55th birthday. I couldn't decide what pictures to post so there are alot of them but I love looking at them and I still remember being there when some of them were taken and that is a good thing!
Looks like mom got a hold of you with the curlers!

In your Easter bonnet & coat. Is that the coat you ripped off the botton & put in the collection basket at church?

Looks like you & Rob didn't want to have a picture that day! Look we all had a flip hair do!

Here you are with your head in the trees or bushes!

Graduation Picture~you can't believe what you wrote on the back of that picture to me! I don't want to embarrass you here in public & all! High School Graduation! College Graduation! Here comes the Bride!
Some of my favorite pictures of me & you!

Happy Birthday to You! I Love You!

Please Pass The Milk!

I came across another old picture & it reminded me of "Don't Drink Milk For Thirst". Suppertime when we were kids! No Milk For You!

Kermis & Petal Pounding

I helped my sister Ellen today in the Garden Club/Historical Society booth at the 27th Anual Kermis Dutch Festival.
I helped Ellen demonstrate petal pounding as taught to us by our sister Jane. Tons of people stopped by the Garden Club/Historical Society booth to try their hand/hammer at it. Everyone really liked it & some of the kids came back 3 times to do it again. It was pretty much fun!

We used Jane's projects for examples as to what the finished product would look like. Pretty Nice!!

Grandma, Who Do I Look Like?

When I saw Tori tonight, she ran up to me and asked, "Grandma, who do I look like? My reponse was, "I don't know." She said, "I am my daddy!" I told her she was MUCH cuter than her daddy!
Tonight at our church they are having snack & movie night for the kids. If they come dressed up like one of their heros they get entered in a drawing for a prize.
Here is one of her heros... Her hero is her dad! What an honor! What a blessing for both of them!

Do You Think Money Grows on Trees?

This is another saying from my past. Both my parents used this question on more than one occassion...

Did I think money grew on trees? No I didn't think that and now that I think back I didn't really know where the money came from! I knew that we had food, heat, electricity and clothes & we always had lots of presents at Christmas time!

Well, now that I'm 'older' and somewhat wiser, I know where money comes from & it isn't growing on any of my trees!

Here is my money tree...

Deader than a door nail! I should go buy a lotter ticket!

I know I should dig out this dead tree~bush, but I really like the character of dead trees. I have more pictures of dead trees~they might find their way here one day!

Family Picture

On September 15 we had our family picture taken at Danielson Creative, LLC (http://www.danielsoncreative.com/) & this is the one we choose for my wall. It was a fun time, especially taking the one of just the kids alone! It's amazing what grown up people will do for smiling kids! Here they are...

From left to right, Raeleigh, almost 5, Tori, 10, Trevor, 13, Carter, almost 9, Makai, 1, & Skyler, almost 10!

Love in the Dust!

I don't like to dust & at one time in my life I didn't think you could even see dust on things. One day a long time a go, for whatever reason, I decided to dust. I was amazed at how different everything looked without a coat of dust on it! I thought it was amazing! After that discovery, I still didn't like to dust & I ususally only dust once or twice a year.
However, the point I am trying to get to is that, one day a few weeks ago, Tori was over at my house & we were in my bedroom. She mentioned about the dust that was on top of the TV & I told her that this was the time of year that I should be dusting.
While she was waiting for me she wrote me a 'love' letter in the dust & after that I just couldn't dust it away! But then I had a great idea! Why don't I take a picture of it & memorialize it forever! So that's what I did & today I dusted my bedroom!
Incase you can't make out what it says...I Love you with a heart & Tori was here, with a bunch of hearts under that!

I know I should have waited until Love Thursday to post this, but I just couldn't wait. I might be too busy on Thursday, so it is Love Saturday!
