Star Quilt Square #4

I had a wonderful Memorial Day quilting. I'm not sure I like these 2 fabrics together but it will have to do. After making this square I finished cutting all of my remaining setting quilt pieces. Now I just have to sew them together. But first I want to make star square #5-maybe tomorrow!
Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Mother's Day To Our Mom!
Here she is with her boys.

Here she is with her girls!
Here she is serving our country in the Navy where she met our dad.

She was the glue that held our family together and she loved us all the time no matter what we did or where we were! Thank you God that you gave us a mom that showed us Your unconditional love!

Star Quilt Block #1 Do Over

I did my first block over again. I'm still off but only 1/8 " on two sides. That is better than last time but still not perfect. I don't know how that is possible because I measured & sewed just right. Anyway, it's close enough for now. Hopefully it won't screw things up in the end. I can always rip it out but I really don't want to!

2nd Star Quilt Square!!!

I can't believe I did another square & all in one day! This one turned out MUCH better. I think I might do the first one over again!
I cut out the squares from my scrapbook cardstock so I would have a more exact pattern, then I taped it on my plastic ruler to make my cut better and it worked! I can't wait until next week Monday for the third star square!

Mom's Stash

I am going to try to make my very first quilt with an on line group that my sister, JAS, found. Our Mom loved to quilt & make all kinds of craft things and she left us with an abundant supply of material in all styles and every color of the rainbow. So this weekend my sister helped me pick out some colors and now I am on my way.
Even though this quilt will be in my spare bedroom, I am making it in honor of our Mom!

My Very First Quilt Square

I know it's FAR from perfect but I actually made a quilt square! Even though it's not completely square & I know it will cause me problems in the end I still love it and Mom would be proud!

My First Blog Entry

My sister just helped me set of my blog.
We named it Don't Drink Milk For Thirst because that was one of the things my dad would say to us if we wanted 2nd's on milk at meal time.
There are many other sayings we've heard along the way, so every once in awhile I will be sharing some of them with you!
