My Sweet Nephew Jared!

This past Friday night Juda Christian School, where Jared played basketball, retired his jersey. He is such a wonderful person.

They have the facts of his injury wrong but that's ok. He suffered a severe brain

injury in a skiing accident & stays at his parents home where he has round the clock care.

A Wonderful Visit with Family!

We went to visit our family in New York. Aunt Jeanne is my mom's only sister & our only Aunt! Here I am with Uncle Pete, Aunt Jeanne's husband!
Here we are with our cousins, we are missing our cousin Kathy!

Here is Aunt Jeanne with 3 of her nieces, we are missing Debbie!

Here we are with cousin Carol with the cow at the Jello museum in Leroy New York~jello was invented there~the cow doesn't have any thing to do with jello though!

On the way home we stopped at Niagara Falls. Jane convinced us to go on the Maid of the Mist and boy were we glad to go~it was so much fun & we were so glad to get wet because it was a VERY hot day!

Here we are 'with' our mom! She went on the Maid of the Mist when she was young & we had a picture of her when she was there, so, Ellen put her in the boat with us! The rain gear has changed over the years!

We had the best time hanging out with our family! A vacation I won't forget for a long time!

Kaffe, Outside The Box

This is a piece of material that was used in the sashing. I cut it in 3/4" strips & then sewed it between 2~2 inch pieces of black material to complete the sashing that is around the squares. It looks like it was weaved into the black material. Quite unique!
I finished the top of my Kaffe quilt. The person who designed this material is Kaffe Fassett. It was a block of the month at Quilters Connection in Green Bay. I would have never picked any of this material if I was doing it by myself but I am glad they did & that I participated. I think it turned out nice & even though it's wild, I really like it! It measures 65 inches wide by 79 inches long

This is the next Kaffe material that they will be doing as a block of the month. I think I just might do another one!
